It's no secret, women must empower and support one another regardless of age or position in life. This weekend I was privileged to present at The Women in Leadership Summit with two of my former students. While our topic was focused on women in leadership I couldn't help but think how our research was also connected to women and aging. As a women ages, she may lose some of her personal power but intuitively knows she must reach out to other women for support more than ever. In the latest publication, DON'T FORGET YOUR SWEATER, GIRL: Sister to Sister Secrets for Aging with Purpose and Humor, women disclosed personal secrets to help other women navigate aging effectively. While aging may appear to be a separate issue than leadership, to me they are interrelated when thinking about women gaining access to power and position in life.
