 Executive Leadership Coaching

Dr. Marilou Ryder

Leadership can be rewarding. It can also be lonely. Senior leaders are expected to make difficult decisions, navigate organizational politics, manage competing priorities, and lead with confidence—often without a trusted person with whom they can speak candidly.

Dr. Marilou Ryder provides confidential, one-on-one executive coaching for superintendents, cabinet-level administrators, aspiring executives, and other senior educational leaders. As a former superintendent, longtime leadership professor, author, and executive mentor, Dr. Ryder brings more than theory to the conversation. She understands the realities of leading from the executive chair—the politics, personalities, high-stakes decisions, board and community dynamics, and the challenge of maintaining your own leadership voice while meeting the expectations of others.

Coaching is individualized to the leader and may focus on:

  • Executive presence and leadership confidence

  • Navigating organizational politics and difficult relationships

  • Preparing for challenging conversations and high-stakes meetings

  • Decision-making and strategic problem-solving

  • Career advancement and positioning

  • Managing conflict, resistance, and competing expectations

  • Leading through organizational change

  • Developing a sustainable and authentic leadership approach

This is a confidential coaching relationship—not an evaluation. The goal is to provide senior leaders with a trusted, experienced thought partner who can listen, challenge assumptions, offer perspective, and help them think through what comes next.

Executive Coaching Partnerships

Individual and district-sponsored coaching partnerships are available, including academic-year coaching packages for senior administrators.

You don't have to lead alone. Sometimes the most valuable person at the
executive table is the one you can talk to before you get there.
