Girl power, a slogan used in the media recently encourages and celebrates women's empowerment, independence, confidence, and strength. The year 2021 will be an important time for women and you want to be part of the movement.
The #MeToo movement, a first-ever female vice-president, and women’s marches across the world signal that we are in a pivotal period for women’s rights and equality. There’s probably not a woman alive who been told at one time in her life that she couldn’t do something because she was a woman or made to feel physically or emotionally helpless because of something a father or male did or said.
The world is changing and there’s no better time to learn how to empower yourself and get your GIRL POWER. It’s our time to speak our truths, take back our power, and unite to change the world once and for all. And it’s time to CHANGE THE CONVERSATION FOR WOMEN BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY FOR YOURSELF.
Begin to chart out some new moves for an empowered and confident 2021.
BEAUTIFUL YOU Embrace who and what you are. Eliminate sayings like, “I’m just a teacher, I’m just a mother, etc. Look in the mirror until you see yourself as the beautiful woman you really are. Self-acceptance is key to becoming one of those strong women you admire.
DARE TO SAY NO Women are born feeling guilty. Try saying, ‘No’ next time you are asked to be a bridesmaid for a woman you don’t really care for or say “no thanks" when approached with something you don’t want to do. Stop doing everything for everyone. Tell others "No" when you can’t or don’t want to help out. It’s okay and gives you back control.
STAND AND DELIVER Standing up for yourself isn’t easy and probably one of the hardest things to do for women. Speak up, tell people what you think, and don’t worry about what they say about you. Let your voice be heard.
DON’T WORRY- BE HAPPY Think positive thoughts, and know that you can do anything you set your mind to.
SKIP THE PITY PARTY Choose to be in control, empowered, and avoid blaming. Do not choose to be a victim.
MIND, BODY, SPIRIT Add one new element to your self-care routine.
INNER CIRCLE Surround yourself with people who treat you with respect. We’ve all had people we know who treat us like inferior beings. You’re inferior to no one.
PAY IT FORWARD Empower other women by complimenting them on something they've accomplished or encouraging them to take the next steps.
